Hello and welcome to my blog!
My name is Florence (but everyone calls me Flo). I'm in my twenties and a born and raised Londoner.
If you’re on my blog, chances are you've followed the link from my Instagram; swift_eats, if not, welcome all the same!
I started swift_eats in order to track progress on my goals, as well as to keep me motivated. What are my goals you may ask? Well let’s start at the beginning.
As a young child I was a very fussy eater, I would barely touch meat and I survived on a diet that consisted mainly of pasta, toast and chocolate. These habits continued throughout my teens into my 20’s. I never really saw it as an issue – I was naturally very thin. Whilst I ate rubbish processed food, I didn’t eat that much of it so without any effort or thought I was able to maintain my body. Food didn’t bother me, it was a necessity but not enjoyable. Whilst at university I discovered that foods I’d previous thought I didn't like, I actually did. Unfortunately these foods were pizza, burgers, cakes… Coupled with lots of drinking and late night chips I gained a bit of weight – not loads but enough to feel very uncomfortable in my own skin. I also never, ever exercised.
I knew I had to do something so I eventually joined a gym and began to educate myself about fitness and nutrition. My goal was to feel happy, be healthy and nourish my body. Fast forward a year and a bit and what started as a diet has become a lifestyle. I know how to fuel my body and I love exercise – I never thought I’d say that! Don’t get me wrong, I still love a burger and a glass of champagne, but it’s all about balance. I feel good when I eat well and a burger tastes a million times better when you've worked for it!
Enjoy.
